...DOWNTON ABBEY season 3 finale

And so I'm writing again a "we don't like" post about a season finale. And again one of the main characters dies because the actor has decided to quit, but the show must go on, so in the next season the show will be a failure.
I don't know wheter the actor should have warned the production before, so that they could avoid that he was so important in the show, or maybe he production should have stopped now. I don't care.
I only know that we already had a death during this season: Sybil died after giving birth to her daughter and poor Tom decided to name the baby Sybil of course.
And now Matthew (who survived after a bombing during first world war) dies the same day his baby comes into the world!!
And guess what? It's a boy!! Can someone imagine the name of this little boy?? I can't wait season 4 to find out....
Mmmh no, maybe I can wait... As Stefania told me: "This tv series has now all the chances to become crap"!

Personally I have an idea: they can move the story forward in time, so we will have a new Sybl, a new Matthew (and they are cousins again!) and start again from the beginning (but this time during second world war). It's simple, isn't it?

[E così sto di nuovo scrivendo un "we don't like" post su un finale di stagione. E di nuovo uno dei personaggi proncipali muore perchè l'attore ha deciso di lasciare, ma lo show deve andare avanti, quindi nella prossima stagione lo show sarà un disastro.

Non so se è l'attore che avrebbe dovuto avvertire prima la produzione, così che avrebbero evitato che lui fosse così importante nello show, o forse è la produzione che avrebbe dovuto fermarsi ora. Non mi importa.

So solo che abbiamo già avuto una morte durante questa stagione: Sybil è morta dopo aver partorito sua figlia e il povero Tom ha deciso di chiamare la bimba Sybil ovviamente.

E ora Matthew (che è sopravvissuto ad un bombardamento durante la prima guerra mondiale) muore lo stesso giorno in cui nasce suo figlio!!

E indovinate? E' un maschietto!! Qualcuno è in grado di immaginare il nome di questo piccolo bibmo?? Non posso aspettare la 4 stagione per scoprirlo....

Mmmh, forse posso aspettare... Come mi ha detto Stefania: "Ha tutte le possibilità di diventare una cazzata sta serie“.

Personalmente ho un'idea: possono muovere la storia avanti nel tempo, così avremo una nuova Sybil, un nuovo Matthew (e sono di nuovo cugini!) e iniziare di nuovo dall'inizio (ma questa volta durante la seconda guerra mondiale). Semplice, no?

Gossip Girl is over!

This post is both a "we don't like"/"we like".
Mostly it is a "we don't like", I was really disgusted by the last two seasons of Gossip Girl.
But in the end... I couldn't help but like something!
And you? What do you think of GG finale? Let me know please.
Here my opinion:

 

...GOSSIP GIRL season 6

Finally it‘s over.
It was really hard to keep on watching it during the last two years.. but I‘m not able to quit a tv series since I‘ve started it.
In the meanwhile it was not a tv series anymore... it became a soap opera. No, I‘m not kidding.. I have proofs.
Gossip girl had the 4 famous elements that are necessary for a real soap opera:
1) (and most important) Someone who was believed dead was secretly alive.
2) The fake niece of a woman is secretly scheming against her and having a secret relationship with the woman's last ex husband but only for revenge because she is actually in love with the previous ex husband (even tough he is not truly in love with the fake niece because he is only using her to reach his ex wife)... and in the meanwhile the woman is married again with another ex husband.....
[If you didn‘t understand anything don‘t worry.. you are normal. Too many ex husbands.]
3) The teenage daughter of a girl‘s fiancée is now having a relationship with the ex boyfriend of that girl.. and they all seem to be same age.. (PLUS: the girl discovers that her fiancée had a sex affair with her own mother).
4) Someone who has never studied anything about fashion inherited her mother‘s atelier and became a successfull fashion designer in a few months.
If you have all these characteristics you can have a very intriguing (and totally unbelievable of course) soap opera. But you were not the tv series we loved anymore......
Too many schemes... and always the same stories... or these absurdities that are really unbearable... 

If I have to choose one word it would be RIDICULOUS.

I‘m sorry but will not miss GG after the last two seasons.

...GOSSIP GIRL finale

So far I wrote what I was thinking during season 6, but when I saw the last episode... ...well, I have to admit that in the end I liked it!
Of course the marriages of Chuck and Blair and of Dan and Serena were predicted (but they were right.. at this point I pretended those marriages), and I prefer not to comment the story of Bart Bass.... (I already wrote RIDICULOUS), and you can criticize everything... but.. in the end....

..we find out that Gossip Girl is Dan Humphrey!!

well, I loved it!! I was totally surprised and I admit that it really makes sense.

So I enjoyed at least the last 10 minutes! :-)

(And there's another thing that I really liked... Serena golden wedding dress by Georges Chakra!

It was the perfect last outfit for this tv series.)

Principalmente è un "we don't like", sono stata davvero disgustata dalle ultime due stagioni di Gossip Girl.

Ma alla fine.. non ho potuto fare a meno di apprezzare qualcosa!

E voi? Cosa pensate del finale di GG? Fatemi sapere.

Questa è la mia opinione:

...GOSSIP GIRL stagione 6

Finalmente è finita. E' stata davvero dura continuare a guardarla durante gli ultimi 2 anni.. ma non sono capace di abbandonare una serie tv dopo averla iniziata.

Nel frattempo non era più una serie tv. E' diventata una soap opera. No, non sto scherzando.. Ho le prove.

Gossip Girl ha avuto i 4 famosi elementi che sono necessari per una soap opera:

1) (e più importante) Qualcuno che era ritenuto morto era segretamente vivo.

2) La falsa nipote di una donna sta segretamente complottando contro di lei e sta avendo una relazione segreta con l'ultimo ex marito della donna, ma solo per vendetta perchè in realtà è innamorata del precedente ex marito della donna (anche se lui non è veramente innamorato della falsa nipote perchè la sta solo usando per arrivare alla sua ex moglie)... e nel frattempo la donna è di nuovo sposata con un altro ex marito...

[Se non avete capito niente non preoccupatevi.. siete normali. Troppi ex mariti.]

3) La figlia adolescente del fidanzato di una ragazza ha ora una relazione con l'ex di questa ragazza.. e dimostrano tutti la stessa età.. (PLUS: la ragazza scopre che il suo fidanzato ha avuto un'avventura con sua mamma)

4) Qualcuno che non ha mai studiato nel campo della moda eredita l'atelier della madre e diventa una stilista di successo in pochi mesi.

Se avete tutte queste caratteristiche siete una soap opera molto intrigante (e totalmente inverosimile ovviamente). Ma non siete più la serie tv che amavamo......

Troppi complotti... e sempre le stesse storie... o queste assurdità che sono davvero insopportabili...

Se dovessi scegliere una parola sarebbe RIDICOLO.

Mi spiace ma non ci mancherà Gossip Girl dopo le ultime 2 stagioni.

...GOSSIP GIRL finale

Finora ho scritto cosa pensavo durante la sesta stagione, ma quando ho visto l'ultimo episodio...

..bè, devo ammettere che alla fine mi è piaciuto!

Ovviamente i matrimoni di Chuck e Blair e di Dan e Serena erano scontati (ma avevano ragione.. a questo punto pretendevo questi matrimoni!), e preferirei non commentare la storia di Bart Bass... (ho già scritto RIDICOLO), e potete criticare tutto... ma.. alla fine...

...scopriamo che Gossip Girl è Dan Humphrey!!

L'ho adorato!! E' stata una totale sorpresa e ammetto che ha senso.

Quindi mi sono goduta almeno gli ultimi 10 minuti!! ;-)

(E c'è un'altra cosa che mi è piaciuta davvero: il vestito da sposa dorato di Serena di George Chakra!

E' stato l'outfit finale perfetto per questa serie.)

characters are not optional

...BROTHERS & SISTERS season 5

We loved this tv series for 4 years. We loved each member of the family and each member of the extended family.

Then season 5 arrived... and it ruined everything.
The main problem was: you really can't go on with a tv series if you don't have the actors anymore. Characters are not an optional!
The first to go away was Tommy (with his wife and his daugther), then Rebecca, then Robert (and of course we didn't like his death at all!!)
But the worst missing character was Kitty of course. Actually she didn‘t left the series but she was not present as she should have done. And moreover the authors were using very poor excuses to justify her absence.. Like a 3rd grade student who says "the dog ate my homework"!!
Kitty didn't even go to her grandma's funeral! This wasn't a Walker attitude at all!!
In this last season Sarah became the main character: we like Sarah, we like her story with Luc, we like her children.. But no, she is not the main character. Kitty was the protagonist and her absence couldn't be ignored.
So even though we loved this series, we didn't like the last season (and this is not the only tv series ruined by the last season...). A show can't go on without its own characters.

Che cosa ne pensi? Ti è piaciuta la quinta stagione? Facci sapere!

[Abbiamo amato questa serie per 4 anni. Abbiamo amato ogni membro della famiglia e della famiglia allargata.

Poi è arrivata la quinta stagione... e ha rovinato tutto.

Il problema principale è stato: non puoi proprio andare avanti con una serie se non hai più gli attori. I personaggi non sono opzionali!

Il primo ad andare via è stato Tommy (con sua moglie e sua figlia), poi Rebecca, poi Robert (e ovviamente la sua morte non ci è piaciuta per niente!!)

Ma il peggior personaggio mancante era Kitty ovviamente. In realtà lei non ha lasciato la serie ma non era presente come avrebbe dovuto. E oltretutto gli autori usavano scuse veramente povere per giustificare la sua assenza.. Come uno studente di terza elementare che dice "il cane ha mangiato il mio compito"!!

Kitty non è neanche andata al funerale di sua nonna! Questo non è stato affatto un atteggiamento da Walker!!

In quest'ultima stagione Sarah è diventata la protagonista: ci piace Sarah, ci piace la sua storia con Luc, ci piacciono i suoi figli.. Ma no, lei non è la protagonista. La protagonista era Kitty e la sua assenza non poteva essere ignorata.

Quindi anche se abbiamo amato questa serie, non abbiamo amato l'ultima stagione (e questa non è la sola serie rovinata dall'ultima stagione). Uno show non può andare avanti senza i suoi personaggi. Elena]

...GREY'S ANATOMY  8th SEASON FINALE

The 8th season of Grey's Anatomy is over. But for the first time we are not satisfied.
First of all: we liked Lexie and we'll miss her. She was funny and smart and her relationship with Mark cannot end this way!
And then: a plane crash? really? They know it's too much infact Cristina herself says that it's impossible that everything happens to them. (even if we have to admit that those lines were really witty and Cristina was the perfect and only character that could say something like that)
So this time they have exaggerated with the imagination. This time Grey's Anatomy seems a soap opera and we are curious to see how they are able to fix all this mess.
We already know we will see everyone dealing with post traumatic stress.. because we have already seen it after the shooting at the end of season 6. This time we would like to see something different.
We hope there will not be a resurrection, a ghost or something like that.
(actually we hope in Lexie's resurrection... it's possible, isn't it?)

[L'ottava stagione di Grey's Anatomy è finita. Ma per la prima volta non siamo soddisfatte.

Prima di tutto: ci piaceva Lexie e ci mancherà. Era divertente e intelligente e la sua relazione con Mark non può finire così!

E poi: un incidente aereo? davvero? Sanno che è troppo infatti la stessa Cristina dice che è impossibile che accada tutto a loro (anche se dobbiamo ammettere che quelle battute erano molto spiritose e Cristina era il perfetto e solo personaggio che poteva dire qualcosa del genere)

Così questa volta hanno esagerato con l'immaginazione. Questa volta Grey's Anatomy sembra una soap opera e siamo curiose di vedere come sistemerano tutto questo casino.

Sappiamo già che vedremo tutti avere a che fare con stress post traumatico.. perchè lo abbiamo già visto dopo la sparatoria alla fine della sesta stagione. Questa volta vorremmo vedere qualcosa di diverso.

Speriamo che non ci sia una resurrezione, un fantasma o qualcosa del genere.

(in realtà speriamo nella resurrezione di Lexie... è possibile, vero?)

It could have been great! (...but it wasn't...)

...ALCATRAZ

As we promised in the post about canceled series (http://40-minutes.blogspot.it/2012/05/end.html) today we talk about ALACTRAZ:
The first question about Alcatraz is: JJ Abrams, what happened to you? We understand that after the end of his creature, LOST, maybe he has felt alone or "lost". It's the only explanation or justification that we've found.
The first 3 or 4 episodes caught our attention but after them you can stop and decide to watch another tv series, because you've understood too many things and mostly there are a lot of easy solutions in the script that it's impossible to believe that this is an Abrams' creation.
The main idea is very good but it's poorly developed, so our interest dropped after a few episodes and everything became too predictable.
Maybe after LOST we had too high expectations, but this was too much disappointing!
Second question: if in every episode there are only one or maybe two people from 1963, how many episodes and seasons did you planned to arrive at 302?? 

Now that it's been canceled, we will never know exactly what happened in 1963... Well.. actually we have understood everything already! We won't miss it.

[Come promesso nel post sulle serie cancellate (http://40-minutes.blogspot.it/2012/05/end.html) oggi parliamo di ALCATRAZ.

La prima domanda su Alcatraz è: JJ Abrams, cosa ti è successo? Noi capiamo che dopo la fine della sua creatura, LOST, forse si sia sentito solo o "perso". È la sola spiegazione o giustificazione che abbiamo trovato.
I primi 3 o 4 episodi hanno catturato la nostra attenzione, ma dopo di essi puoi fermarti e decidere di guardare un'altra serie tv, perchè hai capito troppe cose e soprattutto ci sono un sacco di soluzioni facili nella sceneggiatura che è impossibile credere che questa sia una creazione di Abrams.

L'idea principale è molto buona, ma sviluppata poveramente, così il nostro interesse è crollato dopo pochi episodi e tutto è diventato troppo prevedibile.

Forse dopo LOST avevamo aspettative troppo alte, ma questo è stato troppo deludente!

Seconda domanda: se in ogni episodio ci sono solo una o forse due persone dal 1963, quanti episodi e stagioni avevate programmato per arrivare a 302??

Ora che è stato cancellato, non sapremo mai esattamente cos'è successo nel 1963... Dunque.. veramente abbiamo già capito tutto! Non ci mancherà.

soap opera or tv series?

 ...GOSSIP GIRL season 5

Finally is over.
It was so hard to keep on watching season 5..
Actually we arrived at the end for two reasons:
first - the location: new york city is the only thing in the series that is always beautiful
second (and most important) - we had to write this post!
During season 5 Gossip Girl looked like a soap opera, with a lot of unbelieveable events, predictable endings and the repetition of things happened a lot of times in the previous seasons.
Above all, we are disappointed by our favourite character: Blair Waldorf. Her religious devotion was like seeing her with a fake designer bag: it didn’t seem plausible at all. And what about when she thought that Chuck survived thanks to her vow?? Even Serena was smarter and told her that it wasn’t a miracle, it was modern medicine! But Blair is stubborn... this was the only consistent thing.
Eventually she was able to break up with Louis and what did she do? She started a relation with Dan Humphrey!!!!! That was the most unbelievable thing.. If we had a column named “worst couple ever” they would have won the first prize.
But in the last episode we are not surprised to learn that truth is she still loves Chuck.. That was so predictable but they had to do it of course. And what happened?? Chuck refused her! Please understand that this love story starts to be boring.... If you are not able to create other stories stop it!
But the worst thing was of course something that you can see only in the most dramatic telenovela: the resurrection of a dead man!
We complete simply by saying: we hope the next and last season will be better, otherwise they can stop it now.

E' stata dura continuare a guardare la quinta stagione..

In realtà siamo arrivate alla fine per due ragioni:

primo - la location: new york city è l'unica cosa nella serie che è sempre bellissima

secondo (e più importante) - dovevamo scrivere questo post!

Durante la quinta stagione Gossip Girl è sembrata più una soap opera, con un sacco di eventi incredibili, finali prevedibili e la ripetizione di cose successe un sacco di volte nelle preccedenti stagioni.

Soprattutto, siamo deluse dal nostro personaggio preferito: Blair Waldorf. La sua devozione religiosa è stata come vederla con una una finta borsa firmata: non sembrava proprio plausibile. E che dire di quando lei pensava che Chuck fosse sopravvissuto grazie al suo voto?? Persino Serena fu più intelligente e le disse che non era un miracolo, era la medicina moderna! Ma Blair è ostinata.. questa è stata l'unica cosa coerente.
Alla fine lei poteva rompere con Louis e che cosa ha fatto? Ha iniziato una relazione con Dan Humphrey!!!!! Questa è stata la cosa più incredibile.. Se avessimo una rubrica chiamata "le peggiori coppie di sempre" loro avrebbero vinto il primo premio.
Ma nell'ultimo episodio non siamo sorpresi di apprendere che la verità è che lei ama ancora Chuck.. Questo era proprio prevedibile ma dovevano farlo ovviamente. E cosa è successo?? Chuck l'ha rifiutata! Per favore capite che questa storia d'amore inizia ad essere noiosa... Se non siete in grado di creare altre storie fermatevi!
Ma la cosa peggiore è stata ovviamente qualcosa che potete vedere solo nelle più drammatiche telenovele: la risurrezione di un uomo morto!
Completiamo semplicemente dicendo: speriamo che la prossima e ultima stagione sarà migliore, altrimenti possono interrompere adesso.

...GIRLS

I’ve watched only two episodes, but I already know that I don’t like this new tv series, even if it is on air on HBO.

The first reason cause I reject “Girls”: to set in New York another tv series with 4 girls. Enough is the right word to explain what I think.

Second of all, I agree these girls have nothing to share with Carrie&Co. They are more younger therefore have different issues but you can already see that these girls never will be as Carrie&Co, ever.

Third of all, they have decided to produce another tv series with 4 girls in New York but very different from “Sex & and the city” (25 years old and not 30, Brooklyn and not Manhattan) to break away from it, but the mistake paradoxically is this one, because just in the first 2 episodes you can see how they represent the girls nowadays. I don't agree and I don’t like it.

[Ho visto solo due episodi, ma già so che questa nuova serie non mi piace, anche se è sulla HBO. La prima ragione per cui boccio “Gilrs”: ambientare l’ennesima serie con 4 ragazze a New York. Basta è la parola giusta per esprimere ciò che penso. Secondo poi, sono d’accordo che queste ragazze non hanno niente a che vedere con Carrie&Co; sono più giovani quindi hanno problemi diversi ma si può già vedere che non saranno mai come Carrie&Co, mai. Terzo, hanno deciso di produrre un’altra serie con 4 ragazze a New York però molto diversa da “Sex & and the city” (25 anni e non 30, Brooklyn e non Manhattan) per allontanarsene, ma l’errore paradossalmente è questo, perché già nel primi 2 episodi si può vedere come sono rappresentate le ragazze di oggi. Non sono d’accordo e non mi piace.

Until now we have written only about what we like but only because we have just started so we were excited to write about something we love.

Instead in this post we want to share with you how much we had hated and had found unacceptable and ridiculous Ugly Betty’s finale. After 4 seasons, of which only the first two were noteworthy, this is the finale of the entire tv series?
